چکیده

Alkaline prorcasex are of considcruhlc interest in view of their activity and stability at alkaline pll. This review describes the protcascs that can resist extreme alkaline environments produced by a wide range of ulk alophilic microorg anisms. Different isol.uion methods which enable the screening and selection of promising organisms 1'01' industrial production are discussed. The various nutritional and cnvironmcntul parameters affecting the production of alkaline protcuscs are dclinctucd. The production of prorcuscs by free and immobilized whole cells is discussed. The purification. properties. and applications of these pretenses are also discussed.

Isolation and Characterization of Thermophilic Alkaline Proteases Resistant to Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate and Ethylene Diamine Tetraacetic Acid from Bacillus sp. GUS1

Thermophilic Bacillus sp. GUS1, isolated from  a soil  sample obtained from citrus garden, produced at least three proteases as detected by sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) and zymogram analysis. The enzymes were stable in the alkaline pH range (8.0-12.0), with the optimum temperature and pH range of the proteases being 70ºC and 6.0-12.0, respectively. All th...

Digestive alkaline proteases from the Tunisian barbell (Barbus callensis): Characterization and application as a detergent additive, in chicken feather-degradation and as a dehairing agent

Alkaline crude enzymes from the viscera of the Tunisian barbel (Barbus callensis) were extracted and characterized. Proteolytic crude extract from barbel viscera was active and stable in alkaline solution. The optimum pH and temperature were 11.0 and 55 °C, respectively, using casein as a substrate. The crude alkaline protease was extremely stable in the pH range of 5.0-12.0. Zymography activit...

Study on Activity and Stability of Proteases from Bacillus Sp. Produced by Submerged Fermentation

Objective: Investigations were carried out to isolate bacteria from saline-alkali soils and determined optimized alkaline protease activity and stability produced by a wild strain of bacillus sp. in submerged fermentation (SMF). Methods: Optimum temperature for enzyme activity in the crude extract was 40 ◦C at a pH between 8.0 and 9.0. The studies on pH stability showed that the enzyme...
